My Mother, Muriel Rebecca Bell & her sister Phyllis Naomi & their brother Hubert George were the last in the line of my family of Bells. Uncle Hubert having lost his life at sea aboard The Revenue Cutter Merlin 16 Oct 1940 In Mumbai India, Before having any children.
We go back to circa 1790 Alexander Bell, my great great great grandfather.who is the First in my Family Tree that I have information on. most of the males served in the army. My great great grandfather Charles Bell was a Colonel. My grand father Charles Hubert Bell was a Lieutenant with the Royal Engineers & received the following medals

After retiring from the Army my grandfather joined the Post Office as Post Master General At the main Post Office in Mumbai the largest post office in the world so I have heard, where he remained till he finally retired from work, He is said to have confiscated mail from certain people and saved a lot of bloodshed during the civil unrest before the British gave India Independence.
