Joseph L. Bell

President

Joseph L. Bell serves as President of Clan Bell North America. He also serves as Commissioner for Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Canada, supporting the organization’s presence and activities across these regions.

Joseph brings more than 40 years of experience in project management, engineering, construction, management consulting, and software development within the nuclear power and aviation industries. Prior to his recent retirement, he served as a patent examiner for semiconductor patents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

A Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland (FSAScot), he was recognized for contributions advancing the society’s mission of promoting Scotland’s cultural heritage through extensive study, research, and writing on Scottish history, genealogy, and Clan Bell. He has been a contributing author to the Boy Scouts of America's Chess Merit Badge, assisted with the publication of academic works for Presbyterian & Reformed Publishing, and authored a range of historical materials for Clan Bell North America. These include the Bell Bookshelf collection and a paper that thoroughly examined and refuted arguments advanced in support of sept claims by another clan; following the paper's circulation, the arguments were removed from the other clan’s international website.

Joseph resides in Cartersville, Georgia, and enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and investing.

Richard A. Bell

Vice President, commissioner coordinator

Richard A. Bell serves as Vice President and High Commissioner of Clan Bell North America. He also serves as Florida Commissioner and Commissioner Coordinator, providing guidance and support to commissioners throughout North America and helping strengthen the organization's educational and outreach efforts.

Richard has more than 30 years of experience in commercial construction, facilities management, and project management. He currently serves as an Account Lead and Senior Project Manager for a major global real estate services company, managing complex capital improvement projects for national clients throughout the United States.

A longtime student of Scottish history and genealogy, Richard has a particular interest in the history of Clan Bell and the Anglo-Scottish Border. He has been a member of Clan Bell North America since 1996. During his time with CBNA, he has developed educational resources, commissioner training materials, and historical presentations designed to promote a greater understanding of Clan Bell's heritage and encourage active participation within the organization. Richard resides in Dunedin, Florida, and regularly represents Clan Bell North America at Highland Games, Scottish festivals, and clan events throughout the southeastern United States.

Robbie Silverlain

membership chair, marketing & public relations Director

Robbie Silverlain serves as Membership Chair and leads marketing and public relations efforts for Clan Bell North America. In these roles, she welcomes new members, supports membership engagement, develops outreach materials, and helps promote the organization’s history, events, programs, and mission across its website, newsletter, and social media platforms.

Before retiring, Robbie built a career of more than 30 years in dental operations and organizational leadership, ultimately serving as Director of Operations for a multi-location dental group. Her experience included strategic planning, communications, team development, training, project management, process improvement, growth initiatives, and the creation of systems designed to strengthen engagement and organizational performance.

Robbie brings that same combination of creativity, organization, and community-building to her work with Clan Bell North America. She has a particular interest in writing, research, Scottish heritage, member outreach, and developing engaging educational content that helps Bell families feel connected to the clan and to one another.

She lives in Mountain City, Tennessee, in a restored century-old farmhouse with her husband and their two dogs. Outside of her work with Clan Bell, Robbie enjoys hiking, boating, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her family.

Stephanie Bell Adams

House of Bell, Newsletter Editor, Southern California State Commissioner

Stephanie Adams has proudly served as the Clan Bell North America Commissioner for Southern California Scottish Games and Festivals since 2014. A dedicated advocate for Scottish heritage, she also serves as editor of The House of Bell, Clan Bell North America’s quarterly newsletter.

Through her leadership and involvement, Stephanie is committed to strengthening connections within the Clan Bell community, celebrating and preserving its rich heritage and traditions.
